Welcome to Spain
Spain is a wonderfully varied country. The climate, the culture, the history, the language and the landscape all have a variety, richness and a dash of unpredictability like no other country.
Andalucia
Andalucia is the largest geographical communidad (state) in Spain. The southern state borders the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean sea and embodies a significant part of Spain’s fame and spirit: the summer weather, beaches, the passionate Flamenco music and dance, a host of fiestas and the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. Within Andalucia are some of the great cities of Europe, its frenetic and majestic capital Sevilla, Cordoba, home to the famous “Mesquita”Mosque; and Granada, the site for the world renowned Alhambra palace. These are just a few examples of a number of incredible destinations within Andalucía, all within reach of Cádiz for day or weekend trips away. Andalucía is perhaps the most complete state in Spain with its pristine beaches, endless olive groves and snow-covered mountains. All of its 8 provinces have hidden treasures and a range of historic villages and rugged and beautiful landscapes.
Province of Cadiz
Cadiz province, is perhaps Spain’s best kept secret, possibly because it borders on the Atlantic where the sea is slightly cooler than the Mediterranean. You can, however still swim comfortably more or less from April to October. It’s appropriately called the coast of light – Costa de la Luz. It’s significantly less developed than the East coast of Spain, and
consequently the rewards are plentiful; natural coastlines, a unique and moderate microclimate and a world famous wine industry within its sherry wine triangle of El Puerto de Santa María, Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlucar de Barameda.
